I travel every few weeks for business, and on the regular, I get information on my next task with a few weeks, and sometimes even months ahead of time. As we all know best case scenarios are not always to be expected, and when the occasion arrives we must always be ready for action. This time around, another awesome opportunity to provide some great service was confirmed with an unusually short notice.
After I got the call with the job description and information on my allocated resources (staff, equipment, etc.), I received my confirmation emails for my travel. Noticing that part of my trip was the morning commuter flight with Virgin, I was truly surprised. Though this airline is not my frequented carrier, my previous experience with this Airline was formidable, and I was excited!
Since Virgin America only flies out of FLL, I hopped in the car for a 50 minute drive to Fort Lauderdale International Airport. If the distance is tiresome, the expedited TSA lines are the benefit, FLL has one of the more organized security checkpoints I have ever been through. After a short line, I advised the agent I was opting out of the full body scanner, and proceeded to get pat down. This time around, the agent was quick, informative and the almost always invasive process was actually very light, and I walked away to the waiting area by my gate.
Boarding carried on efficiently, I reached my seat and buckled in for an on time takeoff. As we departed the gate, the captain made his announcements and we were off.
Virgin America has got to have some of the most comfortable seats in the industry and the seat-back entertainment system is a awesome benefit. Families will find that their children and the child in them will see the hours fly away with this personal toy. Service is as good as the perks if not better, attendants are very cordial, and make you feel that you are not a regular customer and that this is not your regular airline.
We arrived at our destination after having taken a relaxing nap, or two. It's easy when these luxuries are offered to us mere mortals, thanks Virgin!! I WILL see you again soon!
